* tiny felt dog

One of my bookstore finds the other day was the Mame Wanko tiny dog pattern book (first seen on Loobylu, also on Craftster somewhere I currently cannot locate and occasionally in Kitty’s Oriental Craft Shop). I gave it a shot today with some craft felt I had around. He’s kind of wonky, but I’m sure Blythe will still like him. The main problem, as with all my small felt things, is the visibility of all the seams. I think some furrier fabric would remedy this. I have the feeling that the book gives lots of good tips, but I am illiterate. Anybody with the book know if you need to add seam allowances or anything?

    very sweet! I have this book coming as well soon, along with others on small animals. Now I’m trying to source mohair to attack and make ‘vintage’. Blythe will love him :)

    Hi, I have this book as well and I have made a few of the pups, I find you do need to add a little extra fabric for the legs at least for the seem, otherwise it is near impossible to get them the right length, thickness, etc. And by the way, this book doesn’t come in English, I already checked, sorry. ♥

    Lauren,
    both books are available on ebay…seller name pomadour24. she is reilable as I have ordered books from her before. They are “buy it now” priced with free shipping. She also has a shop on etsy with the same seller name. I am getting ready to buy both books as these are too cute to resist.

    I think the seams would look better on a fabric with a strong backing such as mohair. The felt may have too much give. When working that small
    you may want to either do two rows of stitching or do a very tight back stitch. I think your dog turned out sweet.

    Any one like the Anano Bear books? No patterns but they are small and cute like the dogs.
