* Crafting Japanese
Posted on July 15th, 2005 by maitreya. Filed under Crafty Links.
I started a new site devoted to Japanese craft books. It’s called Crafting Japanese (for now anyway, I’m taking suggestions for better names). The idea is, every Japanese craft book or website or magazine gets a post. When someone out there writes a review, makes a project, or posts pictures from the book, they, or their readers, email me about it and I update that post. Everything’s indexed to the ISBN and the books are classified according to craft for easy searching and browsing. I’ll also ask them for permission to post thumbnails of their projects. People who give permission will be added to the Contributors list.
It’ll be a resource about Japanese craft books, with store locations and online shops too.
If anybody’s got suggestions on the format, I’ve got a few entries up like what I’m thinking. Since I haven’t bothered getting permission to post anybody else’s picture, it’s mainly my projects just for the sake of demonstration.

What a great idea! I was going to suggest “Craftzilla; Crafting Japan style” But a search turned up a craftzilla site under construction. Oh well

great idea! what about all those japanese speaking crafters out there, could they help translate instructions?

great ideas! (especially about the translations)
I came in late in the Japanese crafting trend, but I am hopelessly obsessed and limited on resources. This is a great project idea.

Thank you sooo much. I just got a new book today, and I’m surprised there’s not drool all over it! Japanese craft books are right up there with precious metals and fine jewels.
