A little fabric dish from a Japanese craft book (ISBN 4834722996). It turned out a little flimsier than I expected, so I’d use heavier fabric next time.

I have this book too and have made a handful of these petal bowls. I can’t read Japanese but figured from the illustrations that I should use some kind of batting inside. I used a light cotton batting. That seemed to make them fairly sturdy.

I love all the japanese books out there, but I just can’t figure the instructions out. But they are great for inspiration! Flimsy or not, that bowl turned out well.

This is a lovely project !
I’d like to throw the keys in, or small accessories…or make a few and offer home made cookies in them when friends are visiting.

To make it sturdier use a heavy interfacing instead of batting :)
