* button ring

This is one of the buttons in the treasure trove of old buttons I got when I went home a while back. It’s strung on doubled gold wire, twisted together in back and covered with tape to hide the prickly ends. It’s pretty tight to keep the button from sliding around too much.

    I actually HAVE a magazine called Button, and have yet to figure out a way to make nice rings out of the countless nice buttons I have. Memory wire is too thick and so hard to manipulate….

    That’s neat! What a great idea for all those extra-special buttons. Thanks!

  • This recipe with white beans is probably my favorite farro salad yet. The creamy beans play a huge role in that, along with the sweet tender leeks and fresh parsley. But it's the chunks of salty, citrusy preserved lemon, a condiment often used in Moroccan cooking, that really takes this salad to the next level.
