advent day 4: straw

I bought a Martha straw ornament-making kit off eBay a while back, but never got around to making one. This is my first and maybe also my last. Such A Pain To Make. I don’t know how anyone with larger fingers than mine would make this thing. It’s pretty, though, isn’t it? It’ll be the star on the top of the tree this year.

It’s pretty, but it does look like a pain to make. Like advanced popsicle stick art. :)

It’s fabulous–hats off to you for completing a Martha item. That’s no easy feat!

It’s gorgeous. I’d have used hot glue for sure.

  • This recipe with white beans is probably my favorite farro salad yet. The creamy beans play a huge role in that, along with the sweet tender leeks and fresh parsley. But it's the chunks of salty, citrusy preserved lemon, a condiment often used in Moroccan cooking, that really takes this salad to the next level.
