* Circle skirt for Blythe

Posted on May 28th, 2006 by maitreya. Filed under Blythe.

I’ve been neglecting poor Margeaux lately, so when Wendy suggested a doll clothes-along, I thought it would be good motivation to make some new outfits. This circle skirt was super easy. I might have to make myself one now that I know how easy they are. This is my own “pattern,” but there’s a real pattern by orriettacat if you’d prefer. The binding is vintage and really lovely to work with. It’s some sort of synthetic instead of cotton, so it hugs the curve a little better I think. The top is from her Christmas dress I made a while back, which is also serving as a nice underskirt.

  • This recipe with white beans is probably my favorite farro salad yet. The creamy beans play a huge role in that, along with the sweet tender leeks and fresh parsley. But it's the chunks of salty, citrusy preserved lemon, a condiment often used in Moroccan cooking, that really takes this salad to the next level.
