* pretty little potholder

My submission for a book coming out from Lark! It was a nice excuse to go buy some of that crazy mylar-batting-Insul-Bright stuff. Becket consulted on the patchwork layout and reminded me to add the loop. You might notice the design is similar to my patchwork coasters. The editor actually suggested to make it round, and I’m so glad she did because I really like it this way!
In related news: why hasn’t it ever dawned on me before to use the zigzag stitch when applying binding? I will never sew binding any other way again.

Last year’s Jaipur experience was amazing (lots of pics here), and I can’t wait to meet everyone who is coming on the 2015 version (although I’m going to miss last year’s group like mad!). I hadn’t used block printing techniques a lot …

I love the round potholder! And the color, too. I think Insulbright is great at what it does, but it’s so crinkly!
I just used the zigzag for my last quilt. I love it, too. I’d used it before for bias binding garments, but it stretched the knit out too much. For quilts, though: terrific.

I love this – and I am so impressed with the zig-zag stitching! How cool is that? I hate attaching binding…it can spoil a whole project for me.

Great potholder, love the green! Did your submission get accepted?? I’ve got a project in this book as well!
June 26th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
I submitted a project for this one and it was rejected but I’m totally ok with that. It was between the pot holder and the apron and I submitted the apron. I can’t get your image to load! I’ll maybe come back later to see what it looks like :)
